O God, You create us in your image, and yet we rebel against your love. You take our sins upon yourself, in Jesus, and yet we reject your grace. You pour your Spirit upon us, and yet we resist your gifts. Teach us the way of humility. Through the power of the cross, have mercy upon us and forgive us in Jesus’ name. Amen
