Financial Fundamentals January 2023

This report briefly addresses finances at FUMC Fox Hill. The latest weekly and year-to-date information is in the weekly bulletin available at the church or through the link on our web site.

While it is mid-December when I am writing this, I can say with confidence that we are anticipating a financially successful year thanks to the generosity of our congregation. As you know, we have paid off our mortgage. In addition, we expect to fully fund our Priority One Apportionments, and possibly Priority Two. We have set aside funds for future Food pantry expenses and been able to purchase a second freezer for use in serving a larger group of individuals each month. We have installed security cameras covering the church and grounds. Unlike the past few years, we have been able to set aside some planned funds for future major maintenance expenses. We have supported several local, national, and international organizations through a generous mission donation. We have kept up with the ever challenging and costly HVAC maintenance. And we have kept all our bills paid. It is because of the great support of our congregation. We cannot emphasize enough how important that support is and how much we appreciate it. Thank you, thank you!

By now you have probably received new giving envelopes in the mail. We have updated the church database and new giving envelopes for 2023 have been sent. You probably have a new envelope number; be sure you do not use an old 2022 envelope in 2023. If you do not receive giving envelopes and wish to, please let the church office know. Likewise, if you receive envelopes for 2023 and prefer not to receive them in the future, let the office know and we will code your record accordingly.

Your giving statements for 2022 will be sent by the end of January; be sure to check them promptly and carefully, letting us know if you have any issues. Please don’t wait till you are ready to file your taxes before asking questions.
